English

LO: To create success criteria for a non-chronological report.

Today we are going to create our very own success criteria that we want to use to help us when writing our non-chronological reports. A success criteria is a checklist of things that must be done or included in something in order to make it successful. Features are things that are specific to a non-chronological report such as title and subtitles. Grammar are the Year 2 skills we are going to include such as capital letters and full stops. Spellings are words you think you might need in your report, such as Africa and Massai Tribe.

Task: Use the Success Criteria worksheet to write on your own criteria. You can use this later in the week to help you with your writing.

Maths

LO: To subtract two 2-digit numbers using exchange.

Today we are going to be drawing the base 10 instead of using it practically as we did yesterday. Have a look at the video above for how to answer the questions on the sheet attached.

Art

LC: How does an artist use colour pattern and shape?

Today we are going to be looking at the style of an artist. The artist is Edward Tingatinga and he was from Tanzania in east Africa. Here's a video about him and his artwork or you can look at the slides in the Tingatinga art file below. You may have seen the programme Tinga Tinga Tales on CBeebies. It is based on African folk tales and is named after Edward Tingatinga's artwork.

Task: Try drawing your own Tinga Tinga artwork or there are some of the characters from the programme that you can download below.
