Well how did we get to the last Thursday of the half-term – Wow!

There has been lots happening in and out of school this week, most importantly the start of our move over to using the seesaw app to help us with our remote learning from home. It’s great to see that there are lots of you who have already set up the app and have been accessing your journals this week. From Mon 22nd Feb when we return to school ALL of our remote learning will be available on seesaw and not on the school website. Paper packs will still be available from the school office if your child prefers to work that way.

For those of you who haven’t there is plenty of information about how we are hoping to use the platform and guidelines to help you get set up on the school website at http://www.broadoak.st-helens.sch.uk/page/seesaw/95502 Your child’s access code will have been texted to you, but if you need it again just get in touch with us at school.

Our Broad Oak Live virtual assembly was great again last week – so many fabulous talents you all really made me smile. Alan’s musical talents and Skyla’s funky dance moves amongst others ๐Ÿ˜Š

So after another week of hard work, who has caught our eye. The emails, the texts, the lovely photographs and chats have as always been our favourite part of the day.

Just a few special mentions from our Year 4 staff.

Emily in 4K has continued to send in some stunning pieces of work and has been working hard throughout the half-term. We hope you take some time to chill over the holidays ready to start again Emily. Well Done!

Jacob in 4M has been helping out and stepping into the role of the teacher to support his sister with her home learning whilst keeping on top of his own work too.  Great effort Jacob – who knows one day maybe you’ll be taking the class not Mrs Bancroft ๐Ÿ˜Š

Callum in 4W has been attending emergency school provision and has blown staff in Year 4 away with how much confidence he is gaining. I know they noticed his amazing listening skills especially this week. We are all extra proud of you Callum – Keep it up!

Remote Learning Star of the Week

Our Star of the Week this week goes to Jacob in 4M who has demonstrated our Broad Oak value of a ‘Can Do It Attitude’ by getting stuck into his own work whilst helping out his sister too. We are so proud Jacob ๐Ÿ˜Š

I hope you all take some time to move away from your screens a little, recharge the batteries and enjoy doing the things you love hopefully with some weather that allows us to get out and about a bit too.

Remember staff are only on the end of the phone/emails so if you have any problems or struggle with any of your tasks today and tomorrow. Paper packs for after the break will be ready to collect from the office from Friday. Staff will be back in touch from 22nd Feb both remotely and by phone.

Keep sending in all of your fabulous work – and I hope you can join us for Broad Oak Live tomorrow @2pm. Just click on the link below on your phone, tablet or laptop.
