5Ma 2023 - 2024

Hello everybody!

My name is Miss Mason and I'll be your child's class teacher this year. 5Ma are extremely lucky to be supported by Mrs Bayliss and Miss Lee this year. 

Key Information:

• In Autumn 2, our PE day will be Thursday. Your child needs to come to school wearing a full PE kit. This means: a plain white top, black joggers/shorts/leggings and trainers. Children will be unable to participate in PE if they are not wearing the correct PE kit. If you forsee providing a PE kit to be an issue, please do speak to me. 
• Children are not permitted to bring any items in from home due to Covid restrictions. 
• Your child needs to bring a water bottle into school with them every day. 

Spellings:

• Your child will have received a half-termly spelling sheet which contains their weekly spelling lists. If you have misplaced this, please ask me for another. The expectation is that your child needs to be practicing their spellings at least three times per week. As you are aware, your child has missed a substantial amount of schooling due to Covid. Please help us to help your child bridge any gaps by supporting their learning at home. Your child can also practice their spellings on Spelling Shed:

Times Tables:

• In order to be working at Y4 standard, your child needs to know every times table from 1x1 to 12x12 and needs to be able to recall these quickly. Please help us to ensure that they can meet Y5 standards by supporting their learning of times tables at home. I would recommend that your child completes 15 minutes of times tables practice five times per week in order to bridge the gaps in their learning.
